Het ging om een routine onderzoeksproces, alleen de verstuurde antrax had niet levend horen te zijn. Oeps dus.
Gelukkig is er natuurlijk niets aan de hand. Een woordvoerder van het Pentagon weet te vertellen dat er voor zover bekend geen risico is voor het algemeen publiek.
Een of andere official van defensie weet echter wel te melden aan Fox News dat het op dit moment niet te zeggen is of iemand blootgesteld is geweest aan de antrax.
Dus... Moraal van het verhaal? Een ongeluk zit in een klein hoekje? We mogen blij zijn dat er zo zorgvuldig wordt omgegaan met dit soort dingen door het Amerikaanse leger?
Pentagon says ‘live anthrax’ inadvertently shipped across US
The Pentagon revealed Wednesday that "live anthrax" was shipped, apparently by accident, from a lab in Utah to as many as nine states.
Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren assured "there is no known risk to the general public" and said an investigation is under way. But a defense official also told Fox News it is unknown at this time whether anyone was exposed to the live samples.
All samples are in the process of being collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Live anthrax inadvertently sent by U.S. military
CNN has learned a lab inadvertently received live anthrax samples from the U..S military in the last several days prompting an across the board urgent review to see if any other live anthrax has been shipped.
The sample came from a military lab at the Dugway, Utah, Army facility, according to two defense officials.
They did not disclose the lab that received the live anthrax, but said it was that lab that reported receiving the live agent sample. Samples are supposed to be rendered dead before they are shipped under a routine research program.
